W&M Montpellier Summer Program

William & Mary students who have enjoyed studying French should consider a full immersion experience to explore even more of the language and culture.

During W&M’s summer program in Montpellier, students live with French families, study intensive French at the Institut d’Études Françaises pour Étrangers (IEFE), and participate in a variety of excursions to historic and cultural sites.

Students earn 8 credits while in Montpellier, taking classes in French language, culture and history from W&M and IEFE faculty and pursuing independent on-site research projects. Program coursework earns W&M credit and grades.

Contact Magali Compan, Associate Professor of French & Francophone Studies at the College of William & Mary, for more information.
